In 1988 a group of volunteers came together to offer support to
the men and women living with HIV/AIDS on Cape Ann. Out of that initial
meeting grew the North Shore Health Project, which today provides
services to over 150 individuals living with HIV, AIDS, or Hepatitis
C.These are the stories of the lives touched, changed, lost, and transformed
during those years, men and women who have lived through the uncertainty
and fear of a new, unknown disease before there were any medications,
those who live today because of scientific breakthroughs and personal
determination, and those who have worked tirelessly to help them.
A lot has happened in the years since HIV was first discovered.
Timelines covering HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and the history of the
Health Project are included.
